The narrative behind this painting was based on the brief moment in time before the Hare will leave it's hide-out in the long grass. The dandelion seed head, (or as it is sometimes known as a clock) on the left of the painting is loosing it's seeds as the seconds pass by on the countdown the the Hare's rapid exit.
